Picture aside, I have noticed a huge difference this week. Basically my clothes don’t fit any more. Trousers that fit me a week or two ago (although tightly) now won’t even do up. I just feel fat fat fat. And trying to shop for clothes in an Asian country is doing nothing for my self esteem – even the maternity clothes are too small. hmph.
Not felt any movements yet although i’m assured it could be any day now. or alternatively another month… bleh!
For your regular installment of Bali weirdness, we went to the beach at Sanur very early in the morning yesterday (ie 5.30) for a walk and a swim as we do sometimes and there were some really weird chinese people around. Firstly a woman on her own came and stood in the sea with an umbrella (it was raining but this didn’t stop us swimming) and started doing opera style singing out toward the ocean. Then when we were attempting to get changed, these two women were taking photos of us! – no shame or pretending to take pictures of the scenery, they were actually pointing the camera right at us and getting closer for a better look! They were giggling and obviously found it hilarious. So so so weird.
There was a big parade thing in Mas today complete with lots of priests and dancing children. Nobody seems to know entirely what it was for as it wasn’t for a ceremony or anything. Pretty to watch anyway. As always i didn’t take my camera and missed out on some pretty amazing photo opportunities. I swear next time I will forget my fears about looking like a tourist. either that or invest in a spy camera…
In other news, we have lost Blackie. He followed Made’s mother to the temple last week and never came back. He’s really stupid so we think he probably just followed someone with food home or something. So we are a dogless household once again for the moment. Cats are much less trouble.
On a random note, I was looking for wordpress themes for work and found this pretty Bali inspired theme. I would use it myself if I hadn’t already created this design. hmm.
